Hello, my name is Jay Pope. I live just south of Houston, Tx. in Friendswood, Tx. Just thought u might like my stang, Mean Green. It is a orig. 92' Calypso Green LX 5.0 hatch with 84,000 miles on the ticker. Since aquiring the car 2 yrs ago, I have totally re-done it. Started by grenading the 302 that was in it, so I ordered a D.S.S 331c.i. level 20 Pro-Bullitt short block w' main girdle & windage tray. Next I installed a Compcams Xe-274 bumpstick. After Jerry Chambers, at The Head Shop in Houston, Tx, put the finishing touches on my Dart Pro-1 195cc alum. heads (which included "massaging" the exhaust ports a bit, adding 10 deg locks and retainers, some 924-16 comp springs and a new set of Ferrea valves in the order of 2.05")I bolted them on top of Fel-Pro "MLS" head gaskets. Then went on a 7qt. Canton oil pan, Edelbrock RPM-2 intake, Msd distributer, and an array of ARP fasteners. Car uses a MSD launch controle module, 6al box, Msd coil, & msd wires. A BBK 75mm throttle body, 77mm Pro-M, and AFM 4" powerpipe ingests the air while a Holley 255lph fuel pump, 30lb. inj., aeromotive adj. f.p. reg., and stock fuel rails feed the hunger. Fuel is spent through BBK equal length shorties, mac off-road H-pipe, and SLP "loudmouth" cat back.( you should hear this thing!) Power gets to the rear via a FRPP King Cobra HD clutch, Mac billet steel flywheel, Tremec 3550,UPR shifter, & Frpp alum. driveshaft. It goes from there to the Frpp 3.73 cogs to a Frpp 31 spline Cobra diff. spinning 31 spline Moser's. Also has T/A rear main girdle. Hooking duties fall on Lakewood 70/30's up front and Lakewood 50/50's out back along with airbags in both rear Moroso drag springs, Adj. upper & lowers, fortified torque boxes and HPM sub-frame connectors, & 275/60 Mickey Thompson D.R.'s. A Uni-steer manual steering conversion rounds out the rest. Rolling stock is classic Weld Pro-stars at 15x7" & 15x10". While the motor was being put together I sent the car to paint. Before doing this I yanked the broke motor, re-located the battery to the hatch, and hid all the wiring in the fenderwells. Car was then sprayed in it's original color (engine bay as well), with mineral grey "chevy style" racing stripes. Just for a "slap in the face" to all the Chevy guys! Interior is fairly stock with the addition of black leather seats and some UPR alum. trim. Car puts down 362hp/394tq on pump gas and has gone a best ,so far, of 11.90@115.90 on motor alone. Now that I have cracked 11's on motor, I plan on adding some "giggles" soon! Last month at FFW Houston 08' I took home the Gold, winning 1st place in the True Street bracket class. This is my daily driven stang and it is soooo much fun!!! U can check it out on youtube or on streetfire.net. Just go to either and search Xplicitperformance Mean Green. Hope to see pics of my baby in the magazine sometime soon! Thanks!
