Just picked up this 2008 Shelby GT500. Can feel the extra 500 lbs. up front. Not as nimble as my 2006 GT w/Ford Racing Suspension & Nitto Extreme 555's. But a better ride. A very smooth car overall. Mild mannered in every day driving. The extra leather and bolstered seats are nice touches. Enjoying the Navi/Sat. radio combo as well. Not so sure about the Goodyear F1 runflats yet but more time will tell. The 6-speed shifter seems a bit better than the stock GT 5-speed shifter. The 3:31 ring & pinion seems a bit high. A 3:73 like the KR seems a better fit. Very pleased with the job Shelby-SVT did on this Mustang.

Your right about the Roush package. Its a nice blend of handling and acceleration. The Shelby is front heavy and in factory trim develops a push in hard cornering. My 06' GT stays very neutral with all the suspension work. But I bought the Shelby more as a nice cruiser than a car I would take out on our clubs track days. We have plenty of Roush , Saleen , Steeda , Shelby and owner modified Stangs' in our club and I knew what I was getting. Its pretty tame overall which I am enjoying. Thanks for your attention.

Should have bought a Roush if you want speed and handling. Shelby cars are fast in strait lines but a Roush will make you beg for mercy in the corners. Nice color choice.
