I have a 2006 Mustang GT that I bought used at the Dealership that I am a technician at. It is a convertible that is fully loaded, and the previous owner put headers, Flowmaster's axle back, and Saleen 20" rims on it. I purchased the car on 10/24/08, with only 8,978 miles on it. I was looking to buy a new car/toy when I picked up an issue of S197 Mustang Performance, at the local gas station. It was the September issue with the Turbonetics turbocharged 2007 GT on the cover. This was it, I was sure the used GT on the back lot of my dealership was the right car. The next day I made my wife come up to the dealership to just "look" at it. She loved it to, but we were both disappointed to find out the car had been sold and was to be delivered the next day. We began to search for another Mustang, when later the following week my car showed back up on the lot. Turns out the couple that were buying the vehical, did not care for the loud exhaust. The next day I was driving off the lot in my new toy. The first change I made to the Mustang was to ditch the factory shifter for the Hurst short throw that was in a Shelby GT that I had test drove. I also put the sequential taillight kit from American Muscle on it. I drove the car like this for the winter, but in late Febuary I ordered the crown jewel that was to be the real reason I bought the Mustang in the first place. The one thing I new I was going to have to have ever since I looked at that issue on S197 Mustang Performance. I purchased the very same Turbonetics kit that was on the cover car. It came in a big beautiful box labeled Turbonetics Racing, and it was full of shiny chrome parts. This was my first experience with installing, driving, or even holding a turbo. I knew absolutly nothing about turbos except that they produced a lot of power for the money, sounded cool, and you just don't see as many turbo Mustangs as you do, supercharged. After the install, that went quite smoothly, I had the vehical Dyno tuned. My monster puts out 462rwhp and 488rwtq. This is the greatest project car I have worked on. I take this car to the local cruise nights as often as I can, and I am hoping to put it in the next World of Wheels car show. But don't you go getting the wrong impression about my car, this is no show pony. I drive this beast to and from work everyday, and I am happy to take a bite out of anyone who dares challenge me at the stop light.
